Malaysia Hilliard

Malaysia Hilliard is a Senior Legal Assistant at Valerian Law. She graduated from the University of California, Berkeley in Spring 2023, with a double major in Sociology and Legal Studies. Malaysia has three years of legal advocacy and administrative support experience and has a passion for championing employee rights. Her managers and clients describe Malaysia as detailed oriented, compassionate, and a skilled in managing change on a litigation front. During her time at UC Berkeley, she was a Restorative Justice Student Leader at the UC Berkeley Restorative Justice Center, educating herself and other student groups on how to resolve conflict in a restorative, impactful, and healthy manner. She also brings extensive experience in program management, working with youth and college students to advance racial justice, promote advocacy, and educate communities about their legal and civil rights. In her free time, she loves to travel, try new restaurants, and spend quality time with family and friends. Through her experiences with and love for her family and community, Malaysia has developed a deep understanding of the transformative power of healthy relationships, inspiring her goal of becoming a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist.
