Firm Background: Valerian Law, P.C. is a social justice-oriented law firm representing plaintiffs in employment and consumer cases. We handle exciting and cutting-edge individual and class action cases in state and federal courts in California and beyond from our home base on Solano Avenue, close to UC Berkeley. Our work includes recovering fair compensation, protecting professional reputations, and improving workplace environments for workers and whistleblowers who are suffering wage theft, unequal pay, unsafe workplaces, retaliation, discrimination and wrongful termination, as well as consumer protection litigation.

Job Description: Assist with a variety of our wage theft, civil rights, consumer rights and class action matters in a hands-on, substantive manner. Primary duty will be to support cases with legal research and writing. Opportunity to work closely with attorneys in all aspects of case evaluation and litigation, including investigations and drafting of memoranda, motions, affidavits, briefs, and correspondence. Opportunity to write briefs on cutting-edge issues.

Work Period: Start date ASAP with a minimum time commitment of six months. Part time and flexible hours 10 to 20 hours per week.

Work Location: First 4 weeks on-site in our office in Albany, CA. Thereafter a minimum of 50% of hours onsite.

Qualifications: To be minimally eligible, applicants must be at least a rising 3L in California on track to graduate law school in Spring 2024. Recent graduates may also apply as this position may be suitable for those looking for a part-time job pending admission to the California bar. We look for applicants with:
