Ella Zalon

Ella Zalon is a legal assistant at Valerian Law. In 2023, she graduated from the University of California Davis with a degree in Cognitive Science and a minor in Religious Studies. She is working toward a paralegal certification and aspires to attend law school. Previously, she interned at the Center for Health Policy and Inequalities Research at Duke University and the Family Violence Law Center in Oakland. From her childhood in Oakland to today, Ella has sought to be an advocate and source of support to others. In working at Valerian Law, Ella hopes to carry on a family tradition of advocating for workers’ rights. Having held positions in various jobs — from grocery stores to childcare — Ella appreciates the value of all kinds of work and hopes to draw from these experiences to advocate for others. She is also a team member of the Sacramento Roller Derby league.
