Eileen Torrez

Paralegal

Eileen Torrez is a paralegal at Valerian Law. She is passionate about expanding access to high-caliber legal representation for workers all across California. Her litigation experience includes bringing critical support to class and individual cases, in particular those involving wage-and-hour, misclassification, disability discrimination, and retaliation claims. She graduated magna cum laude from Princeton University, with a B.A. in Philosophy, in 2013.

Eileen is bilingual in English and Spanish and previously spent nearly two years as a workers’ rights and tenants’ rights advocate at Centro Legal de la Raza. Prior to her switch to law, Eileen built a 6-year career in social work, youth education, and program management in San Francisco.

Eileen is currently an apprentice in the California Bar’s Law Office Study Program, under the mentorship of Xinying Valerian. She passed the First Year Law Students’ Exam (FYLSE or “Baby Bar”) in 2024 and will sit for the State Bar Exam as soon as her studies are complete.
