Class Certification Granted in Meal & Rest Break Lawsuit!

Our attorneys secured a major victory for nurses and mental health workers at Aurora Santa Rosa Hospital, also known as Santa Rosa Behavioral Healthcare Hospital. On December 7, 2023, the Superior Court in and for Sonoma County certified their class action lawsuit, allowing them to pursue denied meal & rest breaks as a united force. This opens the door for potential compensation for hundreds of impacted workers. The lawsuit alleges Aurora’s policies and understaffing made taking breaks difficult, forcing employees to work through them. This violates California law and creates a dangerous environment.

With the decision, discovery and trial prep can begin. We’re confident the evidence will prove widespread violations and secure a just outcome for the class.
